Welcome to a Friday link love, I’m no longer working in shadows edition!
The guys from Giant Bomb take a twenty minute look at the under-appreciated and under-selling Valkyria Chronicles. Gosh, that game is purty.
Play reviews the Madcatz regular ol’ FightStick. I was wavering, but I think this is the one I’m settling on. Bang for the buck, and all that.
Greenland, a browser-based game where players manage neolithic tribes, has entered open beta. It’s part of the synthetic worlds initiative at Indiana University, and they are looking for feedback.
Lastly, and sadly, Classic Gaming Expo 2009, just like last year, has been cancelled. Is it time for a new retro gaming show in Las Vegas?
Valkyria Chronicles… that game is my nemesis right now. Some missions will be steady but easy, and others will stump you hard. The latter is naturally the position I’m in now. But damn is it a great game!
It might be time to fire up the PS3 again actually and give the game another go. The story is getting very interesting at the point I’m at, and I really don’t wish to be stuck forever.
I agree with the bomb and you Chris. The game is so under-appreciated and it’s a great shame. Arguably the best in-house Sega game to come out since some of the classic Dreamcast titles!
I’m still working through a bit of a backlog (okay, I’m actually playing Planescape:Torment), but Valkyria Chronicles is next on my PS3 list. Looking forward to giving it a go.
Valkyria Chronicles is being made into an Anime I can say I am excited its the only thing beyond metal gear that lets the ps3 continue to live in my dorm
