{"id":2047,"date":"2009-11-14T13:24:22","date_gmt":"2009-11-14T21:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/driph.com\/words\/?p=2047"},"modified":"2009-11-14T13:34:30","modified_gmt":"2009-11-14T21:34:30","slug":"pinball-hall-of-fames-new-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/driph.com\/words\/2009\/11\/pinball-hall-of-fames-new-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Pinball Hall of Fame&#8217;s new home."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, November 3rd, Tim Arnold&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinballmuseum.org\/\">Pinball Hall of Fame<\/a> reopened in its <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&#038;source=s_q&#038;hl=en&#038;geocode=&#038;q=1610+E.+Tropicana,+Las+Vegas+NV+89119&#038;ie=UTF8&#038;hq=&#038;hnear=1610+E+Tropicana+Ave,+Paradise,+Clark,+Nevada+89119&#038;z=17&#038;iwloc=A\">permanent location<\/a>, a 10,000 sq ft former tile store across from the Liberace Museum here in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>I dropped by last night a few minutes before closing, and took a handful of photos of the new space.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2735\/4104036322_4a6cdc4c3a.jpg\" alt=\"New machine row!\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The exterior isn&#8217;t quite there yet. Note the remnants of tile advertising on the exposed windows.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2635\/4103278527_71978f9610.jpg\" alt=\"the unfinished exterior..\" \/><\/p>\n<p>New machines (including everything Stern has done in recent memory) line the front wall.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2558\/4103268371_fafa184fd8.jpg\" alt=\"more new machines...\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Not a whole lot of arcade cabinets, but they appear to be in better shape than they were before. The <strong>Gauntlet Legends<\/strong>, for one, finally received the cap kit (or new monitor) that it desperately needed.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2613\/4104032240_f191e591d5.jpg\" alt=\"video game row\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Classic EM pinball machines. The head-to-head <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8hGrPHi1Ya8\">Gottlieb Challenger<\/a><\/strong> in front is one of my favorites in the building, nice to see it front and center this time around.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2670\/4103269339_37ed8aa212.jpg\" alt=\"pinball machine heaven\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Even more pins.
